Education & Youth
Special Events
Emmanuel is committed to serving all our Youth and wants all of them to know Jesus Christ and to find their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Him. We provide special programs for not only Emmanuel children but also for children from the community. We have a part-time employed Youth Worker who reports to the pastor as well as the Education Chairperson. The Education Chairperson is an elected member of the Church Council.
Sunday School
Emmanuel offers Sunday School classes typically beginning the Sunday following Labor Day to the first Sunday in May. We meet in the education unit from 9:30 to 10:30am on Sunday mornings. Our Sunday School curriculum is for Preschool through 5th Grade and offers the same message that is presented at the Sunday worship service. We participate in various community service projects throughout the year as well as engaging in musical practices for worship services. The Sunday School presents a Christmas Program each year with lively and timely messages for the Christmas season. At times they provide special programs for the Lenten Season. There are dedicated Sunday School teachers and alternates who commit to teaching the Word of God.
JLYO & SLYO
The JLYO (Junior Lutheran Youth Organization) is for 6th through 8th Grade youth and meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm. This group does not meet during Lent and is encouraged to participate in the weekly Lenten Services. The JLYO meets in the education unit throughout the school year. They are led by the parents of these children.
The SLYO (Senior Lutheran Youth Organization) is for 9th through 12th grade youth and meets on Wednesday evenings in the education wing from 7-8pm. This group is led by the staff Youth Worker. This group is open to the public. All are welcome!
F.R.O.G.
F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely on God) offers kids from kindergarten through 5th Grade a faith/Bible based program on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. They share Bible lessons, crafts, games, and fellowship. This group is open to both the church members and the public. This is an outreach program that Emmanuel Lutheran provides for the community. Darcy Christensen facilitates this group and has several dedicated church members who assist her.
